OpenStreetMap Foundation

The OpenStreetMap Foundation is an international not-for-profit organization supporting, but not controlling, the OpenStreetMap Project. It is dedicated to encouraging the growth, development and distribution of free geospatial data and to providing geospatial data for anyone to use and share. It is a UK-registered not-for-profit organization and a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales, acting as a legal entity for the OpenStreetMap Project, hosting its servers and services, providing a vehicle for fund-raising, organizing the annual State-of-the-map conference, and supporting and communicating with working groups. The foundation consists of members from around the world who elect its board of directors.
