Hilton Foods was founded by entrepreneurs. The families at the root of its history operated primary processing slaughter and deboning facilities dating back to the 1960s. In 1994, a partnership was formed with Tesco UK to supply high-quality, pre-packed beef and lamb. In 2000, a partnership was created with Albert Hein and Hilton Foods Holland. In 2004, new production sites were opened in Ireland and Sweden. In 2006, the Tesco partnership expanded into Central Europe. In 2011, a new site was built in Denmark. In 2013, a long-term joint venture partnership was formed with Woolworths Australia. In 2016, a business partnership was entered with Hilton Foods Solutions. In 2017, SOHI business was formed with Sonae, and the company acquired Seachill and invested in Foods Connected. In 2019, Hilton Foods Dalco investment brought expertise in vegan and vegetarian meat alternatives. In 2020, Hilton Foods acquired 100% of Australian joint venture assets.
