Brand Wiki

Methodology

This page explains how Brand Wiki compiles, updates, and cites company and brand profiles.

What a profile represents

One profile URL corresponds to one primary entity — a company or a brand. Alternate names appear as aliases. Parent companies, owners, and group affiliations are recorded when those facts are on file.

What editors rely on

Profiles are compiled from official websites, public registration and listing documents, contemporaneous reporting, and materials submitted when a brand is claimed. Marketplace, retailer, and aggregator pages are not treated as official sites.

How a profile is written

Each entry combines structured company facts with a concise encyclopedic narrative, in English and Simplified Chinese when both are available. Figures, league tables, and financial results appear only when they can be attributed. Brand Wiki does not invent scores, valuations, or paid rankings.

How profiles are updated

When a record has been revised, the profile shows a last-updated date. News, campaigns, decisions, and similar items may carry a source link. Absence of a date or a link means that information is not on file.

How to cite

Cite the canonical HTML profile. Treat blank fields as unavailable — do not infer them. Industry and category pages are for discovery; use the brand profile for brand-specific facts.

What Brand Wiki is not

Brand Wiki is not advertising, a paid ranking, or a substitute for a company’s own disclosures. It does not publish product scores or league tables on brand profiles.
