History
Hatz was founded in 1880 by Mathias Hatz in Germany. The company began building engines in 1904 and initially concentrated on stationary power. In 1910 it started producing hot-bulb engines. From this engineering base, Hatz developed its first water-cooled diesel engine, the H-series, with a design intended for reliable stationary operation.
