History
Gentherm traces its origins to Amerigon Incorporated, established in 1991 by Lon E. Bell in Monrovia, California. The original business concentrated on automotive technologies, electric vehicles, and applications of thermoelectric materials. Thermoelectric devices exploit the Peltier effect, in which an electric current moving through dissimilar materials creates a temperature difference.
