History
Encina Capital Partners was founded in 2014 by Andrew Salter, who was previously a partner at Oaktree Capital Management in the firm’s Principal Group. Since launch, Encina has provided over $6 billion in aggregate commitments to more than 200 borrowers. The firm has launched and scaled two prior platforms: Encina Business Credit (launched in 2016; sold to funds affiliated with Barings and re-named Eclipse Business Capital) and Encina Equipment Finance (launched in 2017; sold to funds affiliated with Benefit Street Partners and re-named Post Road Equipment Finance). Today, the focus is on continuing to grow Encina Private Credit and Encina Lender Finance.
