Overview
ChildFund Alliance is a global network of 10 child-focused development and humanitarian organizations, supporting nearly 36 million children and their families across more than 60 countries. Together, its members work to end violence and exploitation against children, deliver child-sensitive humanitarian action in fragile and crisis-affected contexts, and promote climate policies and programming that uphold and amplify the voices of children and youth. The Alliance partners with children, families, and communities to drive lasting change, with children's participation at the heart of its approach. Its vision is a world in which all children enjoy their rights and achieve their full potential, and its mission is to create sustainable solutions that protect and advance their rights and well-being. Member organizations promote child sponsorship as a comprehensive approach to child development and create sustainable child-focused, community-based development programs in areas where children are impacted by war, natural disaster, poverty and global health issues such as HIV/AIDS, addressing education, health, nutrition, micro-enterprise and economic development, and emergency response. The Alliance has a Secretariat team with offices in New York and Brussels, is overseen by a skills-based Board of Directors, and a Member Council comprising the chief executive from each Alliance member and the Alliance Secretary General provides strategy and policy recommendations and advice to the Board.
