Overview

RYB Education (红黄蓝教育) is a Chinese early-childhood education company headquartered in Beijing. According to its official website, the company and its predecessor were founded in 1998, when the founder opened a small parent-child classroom and coined the term "亲子园" (parent-child garden) for the early-education format. The brand name comes from the three primary colors of art — R for red, Y for yellow and B for blue — which the company uses to symbolize the many combinations that produce all colors and pictures. The group describes itself as a comprehensive pre-school education service organization integrating parent-child early education, daycare services, kindergarten operation and management, education research, teacher training and educational product development. Its core offering is a "0-6岁学前一体化" (integrated 0–6 pre-school) model that builds an "education golden triangle" linking kindergarten, family and society. Its three main education brands are RYB Growth Center (红黄蓝成长中心, formerly 红黄蓝亲子园), RYB Kindergarten (红黄蓝幼儿园) and Zhudou Parenting (竹兜育儿). RYB Growth Center serves children aged 0–6 and their families with early-education services; its curriculum includes parent-child exploration, music, language, children's emotional intelligence and movement/sensory integration. RYB Kindergarten, launched in 2003, provides full-day education and care for children aged 2–6 and, per the official site, has operated close to a hundred campuses nationwide. Zhudou Parenting combines the Zhudou early-education kit, the Zhudou Parenting app and parent-child themed activities as a "three-dimensional early education" product for families. Beyond these three brands, the group has developed extended sub-brands including Lecici art education, Future Art Academy (未来美院), the RYB Art Troupe, the RYB Education Institute, The Origin Studio (源工场) and the maternal-and-baby e-commerce platform Chainbest (青田优品). It also operates a franchise model, recruiting franchisees for kindergartens and growth centers, and states it holds "AAAA-level credit enterprise" recognition from the China Chain Store & Franchise Association. The company's official history records a series of expansions: a teaching research center in 1999, the first franchised campus in 2001, the first RYB kindergarten in Beijing in 2003, the Zhudou Parenting brand in 2011, the children's art troupe in 2008, the Chainbest maternal-and-baby O2O platform in 2015, and a listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2017. In 2020 the group was named among the "Top 50 Asia-Pacific Pre-school Education" organizations at the Asian Education Forum, and the RYB Parent-Child Garden was upgraded to the RYB Growth Center. In 2021 it was approved to establish a grassroots Party committee, and in 2022 it launched brands such as the LECICI Aibeigelin aesthetic-education center, Nuanya study tours and Kalemi sports hall to deepen its quality-education footprint. In 2023 it described a comprehensive layout across parent-child early education, daycare, kindergarten management output, quality education and camp exploration. The company positions itself as a "global children's ecosystem brand" based on child growth and education innovation, pursuing a "1+N" comprehensive child-growth solution and using technology to build a smart pre-school education ecosystem. Its stated vision is "连接成长,开启未来" (Connect growth, open the future) and its mission is to use suitable love and education to help children achieve their best future.

History

According to the official website, RYB Education and its predecessor were founded in 1998. The founder recounts that in 1998, when his son was born, he started from a single small parent-child classroom to give his son and peers access to quality early education, creating RYB's first early-education center and coining the industry term "亲子园" (parent-child garden). The brand name derives from the three primary colors of art — red, yellow and blue — which the company says combine to produce all colors and pictures. In 1999 the company established a teaching research center to independently develop early-education programs. In 2001 it expanded into national franchise operations, opening its first franchised campus. In 2003 the first RYB Kindergarten was founded in Beijing, creating a new model of interaction between parent-child education and kindergarten. In 2004 the company undertook a national "Tenth Five-Year Plan" education-science planning project and developed the RYB multi-dimensional education program. In 2006 it built a customer relationship management system, beginning its informatization path. In 2007 it founded the RYB training school and created a parent-child teacher training system. In 2008 the children's art troupe was established, opening its exploration of quality education. In 2011 the "Zhudou Parenting" brand was born. In 2012 the company set up an ECD (Early Childhood Development) project department to cooperate with government in advancing infant and toddler early development. In 2013 the RYB Kindergarten Training Academy was founded, gradually forming a comprehensive early-childhood teacher training system. In 2015 it established the maternal-and-baby O2O e-commerce platform Chainbest (青田优品) and formed the RYB Kindergarten Development Promotion Committee. In 2016 it set up a comprehensive early-childhood education empowerment platform to export quality resources and services to kindergartens nationwide. In 2017 it successfully listed on the New York Stock Exchange, aiming to build Chinese pre-school education with global quality resources. In 2018 it entered a strategic partnership with Changsha Normal University. In 2019 it launched the Ailuo Growth family-education app, opening an online-offline integrated family-education system. In 2020 the group was named among the "Top 50 Asia-Pacific Pre-school Education" at the Asian Education Forum, and the "RYB Parent-Child Garden" was upgraded to the "RYB Growth Center", building a growth community of children, parents and teachers. In 2021 RYB was approved to establish a grassroots Party committee, leading high-quality pre-school development through Party building, and opened a new chapter in industry-education integration by reaching talent-cultivation school-enterprise cooperation with many universities. In 2022 it launched brands including the LECICI Aibeigelin aesthetic-education center, Nuanya study tours and Kalemi sports hall, deepening its quality-education layout. In 2023 it described a comprehensive layout across parent-child early education, daycare services, kindergarten management output, quality education and camp exploration, providing an integrated 0–6 pre-school education solution. Across this history the company built three main education brands — RYB Growth Center, RYB Kindergarten and Zhudou Parenting — and extended sub-brands such as Lecici art education, Future Art Academy, the RYB Art Troupe, the RYB Education Institute, The Origin Studio and Chainbest. It positions itself as a global children's ecosystem brand pursuing a "1+N" child-growth solution and a smart pre-school education ecosystem.
