Overview
ZETA Holding GmbH, also known as the Zeta Unternehmensgruppe, is an owner-managed Austrian provider of engineering, construction, automation and digitalization services for aseptic liquid production processes. The group serves the biotech, pharmaceutical and food industries, designing and building customized biopharmaceutical plants and cleanroom infrastructure. Its headquarters are in Lieboch, Styria, and it operates subsidiaries in eight countries: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Singapore and the United States, with sales partners in 13 additional countries. Customers include pharmaceutical groups in Europe, North America, Russia, Southeast Asia and China. Worldwide, Zeta employs around 1,400 people. Founded in 1989, Zeta has grown from a regional engineering firm into an international general planner for complex pharmaceutical large-scale projects. The company's service spectrum covers design, construction, automation, digitalization and qualification of customer-specific biopharmaceutical facilities for aseptic process solutions. As a general planner, Zeta manages the full scope of large pharmaceutical projects, from planning and construction of process plants to cleanroom design, technical building equipment and the construction of required infrastructure. Zeta's ownership history includes a change of owners in 2007, when it became part of the CWT/BWT group, followed by a takeover in 2011 by the current owners, which restored its independence. In 2012 the company moved to a new corporate headquarters in Lieboch near Graz, which was expanded in 2020 with a new technology center. The group has also made strategic investments: in 2021 in the Austrian consulting and engineering firm Enertec, in 2022 in the German automation company Sigma Process & Automation GmbH and the Indian engineering firm Biotree, and in 2023 in the Swiss company CB Consultancy. Zeta maintains research cooperations with institutions such as the Graz Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering (RCPE), Joanneum Research, TU Graz, TU Wien and BOKU Vienna, as well as with Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences and TU Hamburg outside Austria.
