History
The Fondation Yves Rocher was born more than 30 years ago from a family desire to give back to the plant world part of what we owe it. From its origins, starting in the village of La Gacilly in France and now worldwide, its vocation has been to commit to nature. The foundation was created in 1991: the vision that "Nature is the future of Man" inspired Yves Rocher and his son Jacques to commit to environmental protection, and together they decided to create the Fondation Yves Rocher. In 1992, Jacques Rocher attended the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro to participate in the protection of the Amazon forest, carrying a petition of more than 200,000 signatures from customers to save tropical forests. In 1993, the environmental education mission: the campaign "Une école, un arboretum", launched in 1991, mobilized students worldwide and more than 500 arboreta were created. In 2001, the first edition of the Prix Terre de Femmes was held.
