History
Yuskin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was founded on March 11, 1955 as Mizuho Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. The founder, Yoshimitsu Nowatari, was inspired to develop a non-greasy hand cream after a woman with severe chapped hands visited his pharmacy. In March 1957, the company began manufacturing and selling 'Yuskin' cream, a hydrophilic cream with anti-inflammatory camphor and vitamin B2. The company name was changed to Yuskin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in April 1968. In 1973, a new factory was completed in Yokohama. In 1985, the moisturizing power of 'Yuskin A' was evaluated in the magazine 'Kurashi no Techo'. In 1987, a tanka poem in the best-selling collection 'Salad Anniversary' by Tawara Machi mentioned Yuskin A. In 1992, Yuskin Cream S was launched. In 2000, November 10 was registered as 'Good Hands Day, Hand Cream Day'.
