Yalong Hydro (Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd.), abbreviated as Yalong Company, was originally named Ertan Hydropower Development Company and was founded in 1989. It was restructured into a limited liability company in February 1995 and renamed Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. in November 2012. Its shareholders are State Development & Investment Corp., Ltd. and Sichuan Energy Development Group Co., Ltd., with capital contributions of 52% and 48% respectively, and its registered capital is RMB 50.7 billion. Its main business is hydropower generation and new-energy power generation, and under authorization from the National Development and Reform Commission it is responsible for developing the hydropower resources of the Yalong River basin, operating and managing them under a basin-wide, group-based and scientific model. It is also advancing the construction of a Yalong River basin water-wind-solar complementary green clean renewable energy demonstration base.
