After Yaşar Kekeva's death in 1992, the company continued under the management of his sons, Kemal Kekeva and Mustafa Kekeva. The label remains active, working with digital platforms and promoting its catalogue through radio, television and music markets, and has released recent albums by artists such as Niran Ünsal and Tual.

History

Yaşar Kekeva Plakçılık was founded in 1980 by Yaşar Kekeva, a figure in the Turkish music industry who had previously been in partnership with Orhan Gencebay at Kervan Plakçılık. After ending that partnership, Kekeva established his own company, which went on to produce albums for many important Turkish artists. The label's first release was Ferdi Özbeğen's album 'Nice Yıllara', which was a major success, followed by a series of albums by the same artist. Over the years, the company produced records for a wide range of performers, including Bergen (all her commercially available albums), Ajda Pekkan, Nilüfer, Nazan Öncel, Kayahan, Adnan Şenses, Ayhan Aşan, Seda Sayan, Metin Şentürk, Emel Sayın, Muazzez Abacı, Reyhan Karaca, Volkan Konak, Sezer Güvenirgil and Yüksel Uzel. Yaşar Kekeva was also a founding member of MUYAP (Müzik Yapımcıları Derneği), the Turkish music producers' association, and served as its first president, working to protect the rights of artists and producers. In 1992, Yaşar Kekeva was killed, and the management of the company passed to his son Mustafa Kekeva, later joined by his other son Kemal Kekeva. Under their leadership, the label continued to release albums by prominent pop artists such as Niran Ünsal and Tual. The company remains active in the Turkish music market, engaging with digital platforms and promoting its catalogue through radio, television and music stores.
