WV Sorcerer Productions

WV Sorcerer Productions (巫) is an independent record label operating between France and China. It describes itself as a "French/Chinese music label" that releases music on analog formats and other media, covering genres including black metal, noise, drone, ambient, psychedelic, field recording and folk. The label also organizes concerts and events in both China and France. The label's catalog spans a wide range of experimental and extreme music artists, often released on vinyl, CD and cassette, sometimes in collaboration with other labels such as Throatruiner Records, Pest Productions, Eerie Hint Productions, 隧道唱片 (Tunnel Records), 舊天堂書店 (Old Heaven Books) and SVBKVLT. Its output includes both Chinese and international artists, reflecting a cross-cultural curatorial approach. WV Sorcerer Productions maintains an online presence through Bandcamp, Facebook, Weibo and a WeChat official account, and sells physical releases via a Taobao shop. Its Douban site served as an early hub for announcements, releases and artist information, though updates there ceased in December 2015 in favor of newer platforms. The label's catalog includes releases by artists such as 王子健, 光淵 Pool of Light, Berserk, Sordide, 破地獄, 若潭, IZ, Be Persecuted, 王子衡, 老丹, Q'uq'umatz, 梅志勇 + Ryosuke Kiyasu, 怨, Noyades, Heimatlos 無家, 李劍鴻, 盧家齊, KMKMK, 葬屍湖, Concrete Flesh 具象肉體 and Vetter, among others. Upcoming releases listed on its Douban page include works by 王嘯, Zaliva-D, Dope Purple, Before the Revival, 復活, Dorminn, Vesperal, DOLPO, 樓南立, 海豚踢, 李劍鴻, 李軒 (Usisi) and 響馬. As an independent label, WV Sorcerer Productions is privately run and does not appear to be publicly listed. Its activities extend beyond releasing records to include distribution, live event planning and collaboration with other labels and venues, positioning it as a niche but active player in the experimental and extreme music scenes across France and China.

WV Sorcerer Productions (巫) is an independent record label that operates between France and China. Its Douban site describes it as a "French/Chinese music label" releasing on analog formats and other media, with a stylistic scope that includes black metal, noise, drone, ambient, psychedelic, field recording and folk. The label also engages in concert planning in both countries. The label's early online presence was anchored on Douban, where it maintained a page with sections for releases, artists, listening, performances, distribution and links. A notice on that page states that the Douban site stopped updating in December 2015, with a new website under construction and updates moving to Bandcamp, Facebook and Weibo. This suggests the label was active by the mid-2010s and sought to migrate its audience to more internationally accessible platforms. Over time, WV Sorcerer Productions built a catalog that mixes Chinese and international artists, often issuing music on vinyl, CD and cassette. Many releases are co-released with other labels, including Throatruiner Records, Pest Productions, Eerie Hint Productions, 隧道唱片 (Tunnel Records), 舊天堂書店 (Old Heaven Books) and SVBKVLT. This collaborative approach is typical of niche experimental labels that share distribution and audiences. The label's released catalog includes titles by 王子健 (幻滅情歌, cassette), 光淵 Pool of Light (壤 Soil, cassette), Berserk (Formless, cassette), Sordide (Hier Déjà Mort, vinyl/CD/cassette with Throatruiner Records), 破地獄 (芒神, vinyl with 隧道唱片), 若潭 (STONE RIVVER, cassette remix album; Stone, CD with Pest Productions; 2015 China Tour, CD), IZ (Kөlêngkê 影子, vinyl with 舊天堂書店), Be Persecuted (I.I, End Leaving, double cassette with Pest Productions & Eerie Hint Productions), 王子衡 (萬火歸一, vinyl; 活火山, CD), 老丹 (思維扭曲的行動體, cassette), Q'uq'umatz (Tepeu, cassette), 梅志勇 + Ryosuke Kiyasu (高円寺, cassette with Fuzztape), 怨 (巫怨, cassette), 破地獄 + Heimatlos 無家 (布魯塞爾現場, cassette with Pest Productions), Noyades (Go Fast, vinyl + CD), Heimatlos 無家 (Demo IX.MMXVI, CD; Demo II.MMXVI, CD), 李劍鴻 (1969, cassette), 盧家齊 (圓, double cassette), KMKMK (大腦老化, cassette), 葬屍湖 (奕秋, cassette), 李劍鴻 韋瑋 王子衡 李青 (巴黎現場, cassette), 王子衡 若潭 (Infinitude, cassette), Concrete Flesh 具象肉體 ((NON) VÉRITÉ, cassette) and Vetter (Promo MMX, CD). Upcoming releases listed on the Douban page include 王嘯 (黑馬河的兒子, CD+cassette), Zaliva-D (Sky Singing, vinyl + CD with SVBKVLT), Dope Purple (Grateful End, CD+cassette), Before the Revival (O0, cassette), 復活 (國殤, vinyl + CD), Dorminn (self-titled, cassette), Vesperal (Conqueror Of Emptiness, CD), DOLPO (Inner Himalayas, cassette), 樓南立 (untitled live soundtrack album, cassette), 海豚踢 (untitled live album, vinyl), 李劍鴻 (untitled album, vinyl), 李軒 (Usisi) (untitled album, cassette) and 響馬 (明天音樂節現場錄音, with 舊天堂書店). The label continues to operate through Bandcamp, Facebook, Weibo and a WeChat official account, with a Taobao shop for physical sales. Its history reflects the cross-border, DIY nature of underground experimental music distribution, bridging scenes in France and China.
