Woodstower

Woodstower was a French open-air festival combining music and street theatre, staged in the Lyon region. It grew out of a party organised among friends in 1996 and became a recurring festival in 1998, traditionally taking place on the last weekend of August. From 1997 to 2003 it was held at La Tour-de-Salvagny, and from 2005 it settled at the Grand Parc de Miribel-Jonage, about twenty minutes from Lyon. In 2025 the event moved to the Parc de Gerland and shifted to July rather than August. In December 2025 the company producing the festival was placed in liquidation after recurring financial difficulties, ending the brand's active run. The festival was known for its mixed programme of concerts and street arts in a natural, open-air setting near a major metropolitan area.
