Woluwe Shopping Center

Woluwe Shopping Center is a shopping mall in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Brussels, Belgium. According to its official history page, it was one of the first shopping centers built in Belgium on an American model, inaugurated on 4 September 1968 with a surface area of 30,000 m² and 74 shops and services. It was extended in 1975 and 1989, renovated in 2003 and again internally in 2019. Its official website presents it as a shopping destination in Brussels with a variety of boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and lists services such as accessibility features, electric vehicle charging stations, a post office and a car wash.

According to the official history page of Woluwe Shopping, the center was a pioneer of shopping centers in Belgium and was built on an American model. It was inaugurated on 4 September 1968, covering 30,000 m² and housing 74 shops and services. Within four months of opening, two million visitors had already shopped there. A first extension in 1975 added 25 new boutiques. The arrival of the metro in 1982 gave the shopping center new momentum. A second extension in 1989 added a two-storey rotunda and a new five-level parking facility, and a food court was created on the ground floor. The center then displayed nearly 47,000 m² of commercial space and around 130 brands. A first major renovation took place in 2003 and a second interior renovation in 2019.
