Overview

Wing's Foot (주식회사 윙스풋) is a South Korean footwear-focused fashion company that designs, develops, produces and directly distributes shoes. It began in 2007 as Wing's Foot Korea Co., Ltd. (㈜윙스풋코리아), a foreign-invested corporation, and grew into one of Korea's leading shoe distributors and brand operators. The company is known both for importing and licensing international footwear labels and for building its own brands and retail chains. Its business spans two main pillars. The first is brand management and distribution: Wing's Foot has held Korean and Asian supply or exclusive license rights for labels such as BEARPAW, Polo Ralph Lauren junior and adult footwear, Michael Kors junior shoes, ADNO, NAUTICA (footwear), FESSURA and CULT. The second is its own retail and brand portfolio: it launched the Y.CONCEPTS (와이컨셉) edited multi-brand shoe store in 2010, added the global sports brand concept MULTI Y.CONCEPTS in 2017, and introduced its own shoe brands Wing's Foot (2021) and SURALA (슈랄라, 2022), followed by the total fashion brand MARCO POLAR (2023). Wing's Foot is headquartered in Seoul and operates more than 16 offline Y.CONCEPTS and MULTI Y.CONCEPTS stores across South Korea, according to its official website. It expanded overseas with a Japanese subsidiary established in 2015 and has supplied BEARPAW to the Japanese market. In October 2022 it listed on the KOSDAQ market through a merger with IBKS No. 12 SPAC, becoming the first Korean adult footwear distributor to go public. The company reported annual revenue of KRW 57 billion in 2012 and KRW 58 billion in 2013 during its earlier growth phase. Wing's Foot positions itself as a total footwear fashion company, combining design, production, distribution and retail. Its stated ambition has included becoming a "Korean Nike" and entering the U.S. market. The company has also been active in corporate social responsibility, participating in Holt Children's Services charity bazaars and receiving recognition as a beautiful taxpayer. In 2024 it moved its headquarters and continued to expand its licensed brand portfolio.

History

Wing's Foot was established on March 15, 2007, as Wing's Foot Korea Co., Ltd. (㈜윙스풋코리아), a foreign-invested corporation in South Korea. The company entered the footwear distribution business and quickly secured partnerships with international brands. In 2008 it was selected as the domestic supplier for Polo Ralph Lauren's junior line shoes and as the exclusive supplier for BEARPAW across Asia. In 2010 it launched its own edited multi-brand shoe store, Y.CONCEPTS (와이컨셉), and appointed the idol group KARA as promotional models for BEARPAW; that year it was also recognized by the Small and Medium Business Administration as an innovative management-type SME. Growth continued through the early 2010s. In 2011 actress Min Hyo-rin became a promotional model, and the company participated in charity bazaars for Holt Children's Services. By 2012 Y.CONCEPTS had surpassed 20 stores and annual revenue reached KRW 57 billion. In 2013 revenue rose to KRW 58 billion, BEARPAW entered the Japanese market, and the company received a National Tax Service Commissioner's award as a beautiful taxpayer. A dedicated logistics center was completed in 2014, and in 2015 a Japanese subsidiary was established to expand overseas operations. In 2016 actors Yoon Park and Song Ha-yoon were appointed promotional models. The following year, 2017, Wing's Foot launched MULTI Y.CONCEPTS, a global sports brand edited store, and the combined Y.CONCEPTS and MULTI Y.CONCEPTS network passed 50 stores. In 2019 BEARPAW collaborated with Kakao Little Friends, BEARPAW expanded its supplier base in Japan, TV home shopping and other sales channels were expanded with 100% revenue growth, and the company changed its name to Wing's Foot Co., Ltd. (㈜윙스풋). In 2020 Y.CONCEPTS opened a YouTube channel, Y.CONCEPTS TV, and Wing's Foot was selected as the Korean supplier for Michael Kors junior line shoes. The company then began launching its own brands: Wing's Foot shoes in 2021 and SURALA (슈랄라) in 2022. In October 2022 it merged with IBKS No. 12 SPAC and listed on KOSDAQ, becoming the first Korean adult footwear distributor to go public. In 2023 it launched the total fashion brand MARCO POLAR, signed a contract with Ralph Lauren Korea, acquired domestic exclusive supply and trademark rights for ADNO, and opened a standalone BEARPAW store at Shinsegae Gangnam.
