Wiadomości SIMP

Wiadomości SIMP is a regular, cyclical publication of the Stowarzyszenie Inżynierów i Techników Mechaników Polskich (SIMP) — the Polish Association of Mechanical Engineers and Technicians. The periodical is devoted to the current activities of the association, its branches, sections, organizational and economic units, as well as to issues related to the development of Polish science, technology, and the engineering community. It serves an informational, documentary, and integrative function. The publication carries communications from the association's authorities, reports from conferences, seminars, symposia, and jubilees, information about the activities of branches and scientific-technical sections, materials concerning competitions, industry events, and reminiscences of distinguished members of the technical community. A representative example is the July–August–September 2011 issue, which covered events such as a conference on the causes and consequences of the global financial and economic crisis and its manifestations in Poland (Warsaw, 15 June 2011), the "Basic Problems of Metrology [PPM'2011]" conference (Krynica Zdrój, 12–15 June 2011), the 35th anniversary of the SIMP branch in Gorzów Wielkopolski, a seminar titled "Machine maintenance yesterday, today and tomorrow" (Legnica, 2 June 2011), a welding seminar in Gorzów Wielkopolski, and a symposium on "Innovations applied in urban transport" in Stalowa Wola. Since January 2023, issues of Wiadomości SIMP have been made available on the website of the Polish Association of Mechanical Engineers and Technicians. The publication is a trade-association title rather than a commercial consumer magazine, and it functions as a channel for member communication and professional documentation within the Polish engineering community.
