Walter Group Holding AG is an Austrian holding company founded in 2019 and headquartered in Wiener Neudorf, Lower Austria, with its registered seat in Laxenburg. It serves as the parent company of the Walter Group, a family-owned conglomerate whose business roots reach back to 1924. The history of the Walter Group reaches back to 1924, when Franz Walter founded a freight forwarding company in Vienna that initially specialized in consolidated cargo transport. After the founder's death, Franz Krauter took over the company in 1949 and oriented it toward international full truck load traffic. In 1968, a location was opened in Kufstein. The company now operates as LKW Walter Internationale Transportorganisation AG with its headquarters in Wiener Neudorf and has been authorized to bear the Austrian federal coat of arms since 1986. In 1979, a division for trading used sea containers was established within LKW Walter; in 1981, this became the independent Containex Container-Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H.
