Overview

VseInstrumenti.ru (ВсеИнструменты.ру) is a Russian online hypermarket and chain of shops and pick-up points specializing in tools and equipment for professionals and businesses in construction, manufacturing and services. Founded in 2006 by Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology students Viktor Kuznetsov and Nikolai Gudovskikh, later joined by Alexander Goltsov, the company grew from a small online tool catalog into one of Russia's largest e-commerce retailers. It began with more than 4,000 tool and machine items in 2007, expanded its assortment threefold by 2009 to include garden equipment, and opened its first pick-up point in Moscow in 2009. New categories such as power and climate equipment, construction and warehouse equipment were added in 2010. By 2014 the online store offered 40,000 items and attracted over 1.5 million unique users monthly. The company has developed a strong digital and content marketing presence, collaborating with DIY bloggers since 2017 and holding an annual 'Best DIY Blogger' award since 2019. In 2017 it piloted tool rental, which became a separate brand 'ViRent' in 2020. In 2020 it launched a marketplace format to simplify cooperation with small and medium businesses, though the company does not consider itself a marketplace. A major logistics milestone was the 2020 agreement to build 188,000 m² of warehouse space in Domodedovo, with the move completed in October 2021. VseInstrumenti.ru serves both retail and corporate clients, with corporate customers (manufacturing, construction and service companies) accounting for about 75% of its client base. Revenue grew from over 36.5 billion rubles in 2020 to 183 billion rubles in 2025, with net profit of 3.4 billion rubles in 2025. In summer 2024 the company conducted an IPO on the Moscow Exchange, with 12% of shares becoming free float. In May 2024, VI.ru became the 100% owner of OOO VseInstrumenti.ru, replacing Haverburg Enterprises Limited. The general director is Maria Nikolaevna Shmeleva. In 2025, Forbes ranked it among the top 30 most valuable Runet companies, and Similarweb placed it second among global Home and Garden websites. It also ranked second among DIY online stores in the INFOLine rating and seventh in Data Insight's 'Top 100 Largest Online Stores in Russia'. ACRA assigned a credit rating of A-(RU) in 2024, confirmed in 2025, and upgraded to A(RU) in 2026.
