VITA Zahnfabrik is a dental prosthetics company founded in 1924 and headquartered in Bad Säckingen, Germany. It offers materials for dentists and dental technicians, and its solutions are used by dental technicians and dentists in more than 150 countries. The company headquarters and location for research & development, production, logistics, sales and administration is in Bad Säckingen, in the tri-border region of Germany, France and Switzerland. Over 600 employees from more than 20 countries work at VITA.

VITA Zahnfabrik was founded in 1924. According to the company's history page, the founding of Dr. Hiltebrandt Zahnfabrik AG took place in Essen, Germany in 1924. In 1926, Helios teeth were introduced as the first artificial tooth with enamel/dentin layering. In 1930, the first VITA dental ceramic was introduced for layering individual prosthetics. In 1956, VITA LUMIN VACUUM was introduced as a vacuum-fired ceramic teeth in a wide variety of shapes and shades, along with the Lumin-VACUUM shade guide, which for the first time provided an A-D grouping of natural tooth shades, and the first VITA VACUUM ceramic furnace for firing dental ceramic work. In 1962, VMK (VITA Metall Keramik) marked the start of a long series. In 1983, the VITAPAN tooth line was introduced with a variety of shapes and shades never before seen at VITA, and VITAPAN classical A1-D4 was the first uniform shade guide on the market. In 1985, VITABLOCS was introduced, and the first patient was fitted with CAD/CAM-fabricated dentures. In 1997, the VITA AKZENT stain system was introduced for the characterization and individualization of restorations. In 1998, VITA SYSTEM 3D-MASTER allowed tooth shades to be systematically determined and reproduced for the first time. In 2001, VITA PHYSIODENS was introduced, with function becoming more important in addition to esthetics. In 2002, the VITA In-Ceram YZ zirconia portfolio was introduced for the fabrication of all-ceramic crowns and bridges. In 2003, VITA Easyshade was introduced as the first generation of digital shade determination, and the VM concept was introduced for veneering metal, ceramic and resin frames. In 2007, VITA LINGOFORM was introduced as the multi-functional denture tooth. In 2008, VITA Linearguide 3D-MASTER was introduced for tooth shade determination in two steps. In 2009, the new generation of VITA dental furnaces was introduced: VITA VACUMAT 6000 M, VITA VACUMAT 6000 MP and VITA ZYRCOMAT 6000 MS. In 2010, the VITABLOCS RealLife was introduced.
