Overview

Viseca Holding is a Swiss financial-services group specialising in cashless payment, headquartered in Zurich. It describes itself as a leading Swiss fintech and is wholly owned by Swiss retail and cantonal banks, including the Raiffeisen Gruppe, the cantonal banks, regional banks, Migros Bank, Bank Cler, and various commercial and private banks. The group's business is organised around a parent company, Viseca Payment Services SA, and its subsidiary Viseca Card Services SA. Viseca Payment Services SA bundles the processing business, offering client banks services around card business and cashless payment, while Viseca Card Services SA acts as the issuing company responsible for issuing payment cards and offers a broad range of modern card products to client banks and end customers. Viseca Card Services SA is one of the largest Swiss issuers of credit and prepaid cards of the globally leading brands Mastercard and Visa, serving banks and co-branding partners. It supports all nationally and internationally common digital payment solutions, and its innovative, multiple-award-winning one digital service (the one app) gives customers control over their spending anytime and anywhere. The company offers tailored card products for end customers, combining a broad palette of contemporary card products with a comprehensive service offering for a wide range of customer needs. Whether cards are issued by client banks, co-branding partners, or self-issued, quality, competence, and service are the focus. The group traces its origins to 1999, when Viseca Card Services SA was founded. In 2006 it was merged with Aduno, founded in 2005, under the umbrella of Aduno Holding, which was joined by cashgate in 2008. The Aduno Group's services covered the issuance of credit and prepaid cards, consumer financing, and deposit guarantees. Over the following decade the group expanded through acquisitions and divestments, including EuroKaution (2014), Accarda (2018), and Contovista (2017/2019), while selling Aduno SA to SIX Group in 2017 and cashgate to Cembra Money Bank in 2019. In October 2020 the Aduno Group was renamed Viseca Holding, and the card business was split into a service company (Viseca Payment Services SA) and an issuing company (Viseca Card Services SA). In 2021 the holding company was merged with Viseca Payment Services SA, making Viseca Card Services SA and Contovista AG wholly owned subsidiaries; Contovista was sold in 2022. Viseca is a joint venture owned 100 percent by the cantonal banks, the Raiffeisen Gruppe, RBA banks, Migros Bank, Bank Cler, and various private and commercial banks. Raiffeisen holds 25.5 percent of the shares and is the largest shareholder; ZKB and BCV together hold 19.5 percent; Entris Holding AG controls 14 percent and is the third-largest shareholder. The company is committed to clear, transparent information and to safeguarding the interests of shareholders and capital providers, with governance centred on a board of directors and an executive management board guided by a code of conduct.
