Vim Spectrum

Vim Spectrum is a Romanian pharmaceutical company headquartered in Corunca, on the outskirts of Târgu Mureș, with German capital. It develops, authorizes, manufactures and markets affordable generic medicines for human use, specializing in solid oral dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. The company was established in 1998, when its manufacturing unit for human-use medicines was authorized and its first generic antihypertensive drug received marketing authorization. In 2002 production was moved to a new GMP-designed facility in Corunca, and in 2004 the facility obtained Good Manufacturing Practice certification from the Romanian National Agency of Medicines. A Clinical and Analytical Research Center was inaugurated in 2012. Vim Spectrum has developed more than 30 own products and offers contract manufacturing services. Its stated mission is to improve patients' quality of life by developing, authorizing, manufacturing and marketing modern generic medicines at the highest international standards, and its vision is to become one of the important generic pharmaceutical manufacturers in Romania. The company markets OTC drugs and dietary supplements under the Suplimente Vim brand, and works with distribution partners including Mediplus, Bioeel, Farmexim, Alliance Healthcare Romania, Dona, Pharmafarm and Europharm Distributie.

Vim Spectrum was established in 1998, when its manufacturing unit for human-use medicine products was authorized. In the same year the company developed its first generic medicine for human use, an antihypertensive drug that received marketing authorization. Following substantial investments to diversify and expand its product range, the production facility was transferred in July 2002 to a new location in Corunca, on the outskirts of Târgu Mureș. The new site was designed and built according to the international standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), making Vim Spectrum GMP compliant even before this requirement became mandatory for all pharmaceutical manufacturers in Romania on 31 December 2003. In January 2004 the new facility obtained GMP certification from the National Agency of Medicines, confirming the company's high quality standards. In 2012 Vim Spectrum inaugurated its Clinical and Analytical Research Center, a modern research facility focused on clinical trials. In the following years the company continued to expand its portfolio and digital presence, launching a redesigned website in February 2016, implementing an integrated management system in June 2016, and introducing the Suplimente Vim dietary supplements brand in September 2017. As of the present, Vim Spectrum describes itself as being in a major development process aimed at expanding its manufacturing technology and increasing its product portfolio, with construction of a new manufacturing facility started to increase production capabilities. The company has developed more than 30 own products and its manufacturing facilities remain GMP compliant, with periodic quality inspections by Romanian authorities and business partners confirming that its activities are on par with leading European pharmaceutical manufacturers.
