Overview
ViDoc TV is a Polish television channel with a film and documentary profile, owned by Red Carpet Media Group. It began broadcasting in 2024, initially as CTV9 on the eighth digital terrestrial multiplex (MUX 8). The channel was created after Red Carpet Media Group won a renewed competition for a slot on MUX 8, following the relocation of TVP Kultura and TVP Kobieta to the sixth multiplex. Red Carpet Media Group submitted two channels in the competition, RCTV and CTV9, and the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) awarded the licence to CTV9. Test transmissions on MUX 8 started on 15 March 2024, carrying content from Red Carpet Media Group's RedTOP TV. Official broadcasting began on 18 March. The plan was to integrate CTV9 and RedTOP TV into a single station under the name ViDoc TV. On 21 March 2024, KRRiT adopted a resolution to change the name of CTV9 to ViDoc TV, and the channel officially began broadcasting under the new name four weeks later, on 18 April. On 6 May 2024, RedTOP TV changed its logo to ViDoc TV1. The channel is intended to have a film and documentary character, aimed at viewers aged 30–80. Its programming is to include feature films, series, documentary films and educational programmes. According to its official website, ViDoc TV is available on MUX8 terrestrial television on channel 50, Orange on channel 252, Toya on channel 129, Play on channel 40, UPC on channel 46, Polsat Box GO on channel 992, Canal+ on channel 146 and INEA on channel 264. The website promotes titles such as "The Queen of Flow", "The Bold and the Beautiful" (Moda na sukces), "Burza" and "Najpiękniejsza Brzydula". On 14 February 2025, without prior announcement, the terrestrial broadcast of the channel on MUX 8 was suspended due to the broadcaster's debt to Emitel amounting to 5 million zlotys. The broadcaster subsequently filed for bankruptcy of Red Carpet TV, which took place on 26 August 2025. On 23 June 2025, satellite broadcasting of the channel also ceased, and since then the channel has been available only in cable networks. In June 2025, KRRiT initiated proceedings to revoke ViDoc TV's terrestrial licence. The licence was ultimately revoked on 18 February 2026. Currently, the channel is available on UPC/Play, Orange (ViDoc TV1), T-Mobile Magenta TV and Inea; formerly it was available on digital terrestrial television (MUX 8) and Eutelsat Hot Bird 13G (FTA).
