Vetora's history traces back to 1942 when Te Awamutu Veterinary Association welcomed members in the Waikato. Two years later, The Vet Club opened in the Bay of Plenty. These two farmer-owned clubs later combined under the Vetora banner to become Vetora Bay of Plenty and Vetora Waikato. The official website states Vetora was established in 1943 by leading farmers.
