Vestaron was founded in 2005 to lead a global revolution in crop protection by creating novel, effective, and sustainable solutions. The company produces a pipeline of powerful insecticides with new modes of action based on peptides modified from the venom of spiders and other venomous species. Its SPEAR® brand portfolio and upcoming BASIN™ Flex insecticide deliver new modes of action that effectively target pests on high-value crops. Vestaron's products are naturally soft on pollinators, beneficials, and local biodiversity, and have earned recognition from the Crop Science Awards and the EPA's Green Chemistry Challenge. In 2024, Vestaron became the first agriculture and food company inducted into the Global CleanTech 100 Hall of Fame.

Vestaron was founded in 2005. Originally known as Venomix, it was founded after Professor Glenn King and a University of Connecticut R&D company began to isolate peptides from spider venom. In 2018, SPEAR® active ingredient received regulatory approval. In 2020, SPEAR® LEP product was launched in the US, marking the first-ever launch of a peptide-based insecticide that is a 1:1 displacement of traditional chemistries, and the first novel broad spectrum nerve and muscular mode of action in 15 years. In 2024, BASIN™ Active Ingredient received regulatory approval in the US and Mexico, ADM became Vestaron's Contract Manufacturing Organization, and Vestaron became the first agriculture and food company inducted into the Global CleanTech 100 Hall of Fame.
