Overview

Vectorious Medical Technologies is a private Israeli medical device company focused on implantable sensing platforms for chronic heart failure management. Founded in October 2011 by Dr. Eyal Orion, Roni Weinstein and Oren Goldstein, the company grew out of the Rad-Biomed incubator established by Yehuda and Prof. Nava Zisapel. Its headquarters are in Tel Aviv, Israel, and as of September 2025 it employed about 120 people, all in Israel. The company's flagship technology is the V-LAP System, a miniature sensor implanted in the heart's interatrial septum. The sensor measures left atrial pressure (LAP) and transmits daily readings to an external wearable device worn briefly each day, which relays the data over the internet to the treating physician. This enables physician-guided, patient self-management of chronic heart failure, with the goal of detecting worsening before symptoms escalate and adjusting therapy such as drug dosage accordingly. Vectorious describes its mission as developing scalable therapies based on implantable sensing platforms that provide reliable, actionable and valuable clinical information, and states it holds 20+ patents. Vectorious has raised capital from investors including the Zisapel family, Ory Stimetzky, Zohar Gilon, Ari Rabad and his wife Roni, and several venture capital funds. It received a €2.2 million grant from the European Union's Horizon 2020 program in 2018. In 2023, according to press estimates and citations, Edwards Lifesciences acquired 52% of the company at a valuation of $497 million, and in September 2025 completed the acquisition to 100% at the same valuation. The V-LAP System remains an investigational device and is not currently approved for clinical use in any geography.

History

Vectorious Medical Technologies was founded in October 2011 by Dr. Eyal Orion, Roni Weinstein and Oren Goldstein. The company grew within the Rad-Biomed incubator, which was established by Yehuda Zisapel and Prof. Nava Zisapel. Oren Goldstein served as CEO from the company's founding, with Eyal Orion taking over in recent years. The company developed a miniature implant that acts as a sensor monitoring heart function and blood pressure in patients suffering from heart failure. The implant is placed in the left atrium of the heart through a minimally invasive procedure and measures left atrial pressure, which serves as an indication of worsening heart failure. A patient with the implanted sensor activates an external belt-like device for one minute each day, to which the sensor transmits the data it has collected. The data is transferred via the internet to the treating physician for decisions on required treatment, such as changing drug dosage. The company's main office is in Tel Aviv, and as of September 2025 it employed 120 people, all in Israel. In February 2025 the company raised $5 million, and in July 2018 it raised $9.5 million. From its founding until September 2025, a total of $35 million was invested in the company. In 2018 the company received a $2.2 million grant from the European Union under the Horizon 2020 program. Investors in the company include the Zisapel family, Ory Stimetzky, Zohar Gilon, Ari Rabad and his wife Roni, and several venture capital funds. According to estimates and citations in the press, in 2023 the American company Edwards Lifesciences acquired 52% of the company at a valuation of $497 million, and in September 2025 completed the acquisition to 100%, at the same valuation.
