Its flagship offering, VC4 Service2Create (S2C), previously known as IMS, is a complete, off-the-shelf, configurable inventory management system that consolidates physical, logical, virtual and service elements into a single view. The company is headquartered in the Netherlands and has been in operation since 2004.

Mike Dorland has led VC4 since its inception and founded the company after working with BT and KPN, experience that inspired VC4-IMS and Service2Create. Gerard van der Linden Vooren is a co-founder and CTO, and had a career as an engineer with BT and other organizations prior to establishing VC4, nearly two decades ago. Peter van Hartingsveld joined VC4 in 2007, and Erik Mol joined the team in 2020.
