History

Varinex Zrt. traces its origins to the regime-change years in Hungary, when it was founded under the name FabiCAD, initially focusing on 3D design. As a market leader, in 1998 it cooperated with the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) to commission the first 3D printer in Hungary. From that point the emphasis increasingly shifted toward modern industrial 3D manufacturing, and from 2001 the company has operated under the name Varinex Zrt. Following this, the company launched regular professional forums, which it has since held semi-annually or annually under the name Varinex conference. In the following years Varinex appeared at the largest Hungarian universities; after BME, it was the first to appear at Eötvös Loránd University between 2004 and 2006. Since the 2000s Varinex has provided products, solutions and services to an increasing number of industries, and supports research and development and Hungarian education with knowledge and financial resources. As a Stratasys partner, it distributes 3D printers and provides added expertise. As solutions, it offers PolyJet, FDM, SAF, P3 and SL services to industries, among others. Today the company is present in many new areas and supports universities and education. In the field of functional and aesthetic design, it provides long-term support to the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, among others in connection with the "Ugrás a jövőbe" (Leap into the Future) grants. Among the disciplines supported by Varinex is space technology, in which it participates as a significant partner in the developments of the BME Aerospace Team, among others. Varinex describes itself as a 100% Hungarian-owned family business with 35 years of experience, helping Hungary's leading industrial companies and their innovations with 3D technologies.
