Overview

V7-Versand, also known as V7 / TTV Versand, is a German mail-order and internet retailer specialising in right-wing rock (Rechtsrock) music and merchandise associated with the neo-Nazi scene. The abbreviation V7 refers to a supposed fully-winged aircraft allegedly developed by the National Socialists (the so-called Reichsflugscheibe), while TTV stands for 'Tonträgerversand' (sound-carrier mail order). The company was founded in 2000 by Ingo Knauf of Plüschow near Wismar, who initially produced CDs himself. Over time Knauf acquired the Wotan Records label and the Aufruhr Versand from Gera, the Show-Down Records label of former Blood & Honour leader Bernd Peruch, and the well-established TTV Versand from Lars Georgi. He also owns the labels Bloody Creed Records and Bloody Core Records, the latter a sub-label used mainly for largely politically unobjectionable hardcore music. The product range extends from CDs to flags and clothing, as well as baseball bats, batons and bulletproof vests. On its in-house label V7-Records, almost 50 CDs were released up to 2008, while around 60 sound carriers appeared under the Wotan Records label. Among the CDs published are those by the English right-wing rock band Brutal Attack, the Berlin band Spreegeschwader and Hauptkampflinie from Kassel. V7-Records had bands such as Projekt Aaskereia, Kraftschlag, Nordfront and Sleipnir under contract. Because of its aggressive business practices, Ingo Knauf is criticised within his own scene. The editors of the fanzine Foier Frei asked him whether he supported 'various actions only for image reasons' or whether he was also 'in it with his heart'. Knauf was arrested during the handover of the album Deutsche Wut by the right-wing rock band Landser and sentenced to a suspended prison term. By 2008, four house searches had been conducted at his premises. V7-Versand is considered one of the market leaders among far-right mail-order shops. The right-wing rock experts Jan Raabe and Martin Langebach estimate the mail-order company's annual turnover at over 500,000 euros. Due to the size and 'capitalist' orientation of the mail-order business, a boycott of the company was called for within the neo-Nazi scene in 2008, on the grounds that articles were allegedly overpriced and too little money was invested in political work.

The abbreviation V7 refers to a supposed fully-winged aircraft allegedly developed by the National Socialists (the so-called Reichsflugscheibe), while TTV stands for 'Tonträgerversand' (sound-carrier mail order). Over the years Knauf expanded the business by acquiring other mail-order companies and labels: he bought the Wotan Records label and the Aufruhr Versand from Gera, the Show-Down Records label of former Blood & Honour leader Bernd Peruch, and the well-established TTV Versand from Lars Georgi. He also owns the labels Bloody Creed Records and Bloody Core Records, the latter a sub-label on which largely politically unobjectionable hardcore is released.
