Východoslovenská distribučná

Východoslovenská distribučná, a.s. (VSD) is a Slovak energy company whose principal business is the distribution of electricity through its own distribution system to end consumers. It was established in November 2005 and began operations on 1 July 2007, when it was separated from the then Východoslovenská energetika a.s. (VSE). VSD is part of the VSE Holding Group. On the territory of eastern Slovakia it owns a distribution system with a length of almost 22,600 kilometres and distributes electricity to more than 600,000 supply points. The company is therefore a regional distribution system operator rather than an electricity supplier or generator, and its activities are tied to the licensed distribution area in eastern Slovakia. Its registered seat is in Košice, the principal city of eastern Slovakia, and its operations are regulated as a natural monopoly distribution network.
