The company was founded by Diego Bestard and Jorge Gutiérrez with the purpose of democratizing real estate investment. History
Urbanitae was founded by Diego Bestard and Jorge Gutiérrez with the purpose of democratizing real estate investment. After two years of development, Urbanitae obtained authorization from the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) to operate openly. The company made the partial repayment of its first project (Hortaleza) 17 months ahead of schedule. The Simancas project, led by Grupanxon, allowed the platform to finance 475,000 euros in two and a half minutes. With the closing of Botánico Homes in Tenerife, Urbanitae was the first to finance a 5 million euro project, the maximum allowed by law. Urbanitae partnered with the neobank MyInvestor, allowing its clients to invest in projects on the platform. Andbank joined the shareholding, solidifying the collaboration with MyInvestor. Urbanitae was the first real estate crowdfunding platform authorized to operate throughout Europe under the new community regulations. With the Supermercado Getafe project, Urbanitae launched its new division of rental assets with periodic returns. With the closing of the Allonbay Aura project, the platform surpassed 200 million euros funded. Urbanitae incorporated Tamara Icardo as a brand ambassador.
