History

Urban South Brewery is a craft brewery based in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to a word from founder Jacob Landry, the seed for Urban South was planted during a year he spent in Europe, where tasting Belgian and English ales and German lagers at the source revealed to him the gap between the beer his ancestors drank and the mass-market beer he grew up with in South Louisiana. The brewery states that it combines the heritage of European beer-making with the brashness of new American styles, and that with deep roots in Louisiana it aims to brew the South's most respected beer and to be strong community partners. Jacob Landry serves as Founder and President, and Kyle Huling as Co-Founder and Vice President.
