History
Universitas Ivet (UNISVET) was established on 12 January 2019 as a merger of two older institutions in Semarang: IKIP Veteran Jawa Tengah Semarang (a teacher training institute) and Akademi Teknik Perkapalan Semarang (a shipbuilding technical academy). The university opened with five faculties: the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Faculty of Science and Technology (F-Saintek), the Faculty of Health, the Faculty of Maritime Studies, and the Faculty of Islamic Religious Education. It offers 24 study programs at diploma and undergraduate levels, including distance learning (PJJ) options for selected programs such as Early Childhood Teacher Education and Vocational Mechanical Engineering Education. Since 2019, the university has been led by Rector Prof. Dr. Rustono, M.Hum., a professor and former Vice Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes).
