The Universidad Tecnológica de Mineral de la Reforma (UTMiR) is a public institution of higher education located in Mineral de la Reforma, in the State of Hidalgo, Mexico. It began operations on 1 December 2014 with 100 students and three academic programs: Tourism with a focus on Hospitality, Agrobiotechnology with a focus on Plants, and Multimedia and Electronic Commerce. The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Hidalgo Secretariat of Education, Joel Guerrero Juárez; the state delegate of the SEP, José Raimundo Ordóñez Meneses; and the mayor of Mineral de la Reforma, Filiberto Hernández Monzalvo. The campus is located on the former Chavarría hacienda, which UTMiR received in August 2016 partly as a donation and partly through purchase by the Government of the State of Hidalgo. The remodeling and conditioning had a budget of 130 million pesos, plus 5 million pesos for equipment and furniture. The sports area includes a football pitch and a basketball court. The campus also has nine villas used as Tourism laboratories, as well as the Rector's Office, with a library and information center planned. UTMiR is a state-owned public university. Its rectors have been Roberto Diez Gutiérrez (2014–2018) and Víctor Manuel del Villar Delgadillo (2018–present). The university is part of Mexico's Sistema de Universidades Tecnológicas. Its website is utmirbis.org.
