Overview

TVC, also called Canal TVC, is a Brazilian television station headquartered in Potiraguá, a city in the state of Bahia. It belongs to Arruda Comunicação Independente, a company owned by businessman Gel Arruda. The station was announced on 31 March 2021 and began experimental operations on channel 21 UHF digital on 7 April 2021. Its official inauguration took place on 16 April 2021 during a ceremony at the Potiraguá City Council. It was the first television station in the city and the first to activate a digital television signal there; until then, Potiraguá had only an analog repeater of TV Santa Cruz. TVC broadcasts in high definition and operates on channel 21.1 as well as subchannel 12.1. It entered the air without a concession or authorization from ANATEL, although its creation had the support of the municipal government. On 28 May 2022, TVC increased its transmitter power to reach the district of Itaimbé, presenting the action as a partnership with the federal Digitaliza Brasil project, though the program has no recorded activity in Potiraguá and the station still lacks a concession. The station produces and airs programs including Cine TVC, Reportagem Especial, Resenha Esportiva, TVC Agora!, and TVC Kids. Former programs include Buteco Vip, Fala Aí!, Luana Responde, Politicando, Potiraguá em Destaque, and Top Gospel. Beyond television, TVC offers sports broadcasts, audiovisual production, and image and social media consulting services to companies, public entities, and professionals. Its programming is available 24 hours a day via digital channels 12.1 and 21.1 UHF, the TVC+ app, EliteNetTV channel 834, MoobiTV channel 53, and Scalaplay. The station maintains journalism and ombudsman contacts and is active on social media as @canaltvcdigital.
