Overview

TV3 Slovenija (commonly TV3) is a Slovenian commercial television station operated by the company Pro TV. It is the successor to the TV Pink SI programme and broadcasts across Slovenia. The channel traces its origins to the launch of Pink SI on 30 September 2010, established by Željko Mitrović, owner of the Pink International Company media group, under the company PINK Slovenija d.o.o. The programme offered entertainment, news, music shows, and American films and series, as well as content produced by PINK TV COMPANY, and was available via cable, digital terrestrial, and satellite television through TOTAL TV. In early 2012 the television house was bought by Agencija Medias, led by director Bojan Umer. On 1 March 2012 the programme was renamed TV Pink 3 and changed its graphics and logo, which resembled the logo of the TV3 television that had ceased broadcasting the day before. Some self-produced shows remained, such as Požareport, Vikendvizija, City magazin and Resnica, while TV Pink 3 also purchased some programmes from Serbian Pink. On 20 September 2012 it was renamed again, this time to TV3 Medias, as Agencija Medias removed the Pink name from the brand after a six-month transition period following the takeover of the Slovenian Pink frequency. From 1 January 2017, management of the programme was taken over by the company Pro TV, led by journalist Bojan Požar, who had announced this in December 2016 and also announced the introduction of a daily news programme. On 6 March 2017, TV3 Medias was renamed TV3 Slovenija, and a new graphic identity and revised programming schedule were presented. The schedule included established shows such as the talk show Klepet ob kavi, the dance show Parada plesa and the entertainment show Vlogerji, as well as new ones including the daily news show VV Faktor, the quiz Izberi ali poberi, the dating show Zmenki! and the hairdressing reality show Zlati rezzz. In September 2019, TV3 began broadcasting new self-produced shows such as the late-night talk show TineTime Show, the show Super reševalci about veterinarians, pets and their owners, and Nov faktor covering the entertainment scene. On 22 October 2019, TV3 acquired the rights to broadcast NBA league games. Due to the spread of the coronavirus and self-isolation, from 23 March 2020 a new show titled Dobra volja z Iztokom, hosted by Iztok Gartner, was added to the afternoon schedule. In autumn of the same year the television logo was changed to orange. New shows included TOP 8, broadcasting eight Slovenian hits every weekday, and from November Moja pesem, tvoj glas, in which Slovenian singers perform each other's songs. In December, the show Vinilni časi premiered, in which hosts Jani Krmac and Suzana Bajrić reminisce about music history with guests. In July 2021, following statements by Norma Brščič, host of the show Faktor on TV3, from January of the same year, the Agency for Communication Networks and Services demanded that TV3 cease promoting racial inequality and inciting racial hatred and intolerance. The Slovenian Journalists' Association also filed criminal complaints against TV3 over the statement against Brščič and the responsible editor of TV3. In June 2021, a new travel-research show Zlati ključi was added to the schedule. Until its 45th episode the show was hosted by Ingrid Ulaga, followed by Asja Pivk, who was joined by Suzana Bajrić. The TV3 programme can be watched via television operators Telekom Slovenije, A1, Telemach, T2 and larger cable operators. Via DVB-T (multiplex C), digital terrestrial broadcasting in the Republic of Slovenia, viewing was possible until March 2022.
