TTI Fabrication Inc.

TTI Fabrication Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer of swimming pool heat pumps headquartered in Longueuil, Quebec. The company designs and builds five distinct lines of pool heat pumps — Elite, Hybrid, Ecolo, Stratos and Oasis — engineered specifically for the Quebec climate and for the varying sizes and types of residential and commercial pools. It has been a leader in the Canadian pool heat pump industry for more than 30 years, according to its own corporate description. The business traces its roots to a family plumbing and heating tradition begun in 1946 by Marcel Turcotte, a master plumber who invented a single-hose heating system and was among the first in Quebec to install oil-burner furnaces. His son Yvon Turcotte began working as a plumber's apprentice at 14, earned his journeyman's card in plumbing and heating in 1964, and started his first company, Les Entreprises Yvon Turcotte, in 1970. After training in heat pumps in 1973–1974, Yvon Turcotte experimented with a heat pump at home and in the 1975–1976 season his company became the first to commercialize the Turcotte heat pump in Quebec. In 1977 he founded Centre d'Économie en Chauffage Turcotte, dedicated to saving customers energy costs for heating and air conditioning. TTI Fabrication itself was founded in 1986 by Yvon Turcotte. The company manufactures its pool heat pumps in Quebec and sells them through a network of dealers, supported by an online dealer locator, service calls and warranty registration. A family succession is gradually taking over the business, which the company describes as a Quebec flagship. Its mission is to design and manufacture quality pool water heaters and heat pumps suited to the particular demands of the Quebec climate and to different pool sizes and types, whether residential or commercial.

The Turcotte family's involvement in heating and plumbing began in 1946, when Marcel Turcotte, a master plumber in the heating field, invented a single-hose heating system and was among the first to install oil-burner furnaces in Quebec. His son Yvon Turcotte started working for him at age 14 as a plumber's apprentice while attending the École des Métiers de Montréal, and in 1964 obtained his journeyman's card in plumbing and heating. In 1970 Yvon Turcotte founded his first company, Les Entreprises Yvon Turcotte, in plumbing and heating, and in 1971 he became a master pipe mechanic. Following a seminar and various training sessions on heat pumps in 1973–1974, he experimented with a heat pump at his own home. During the 1975–1976 season his company became the first to commercialize the Turcotte heat pump in Quebec. In 1977 he founded Centre d'Économie en Chauffage Turcotte, whose mission was to help customers save on heating and air-conditioning energy costs; he installed numerous heat pumps in Quebec homes. Between 1982 and 1986, in regular communication with engineers from supplier manufacturers, he recommended corrections to certain anomalies related to the Quebec climate, but without success. Frustrated by the manufacturers' inaction, he went on to found TTI Fabrication in 1986 to build heat pumps suited to local conditions. TTI Fabrication has since designed and manufactured pool heat pumps in Longueuil, Quebec, offering five lines — Elite, Hybrid, Ecolo, Stratos and Oasis — for residential and commercial pools of different sizes and types. The company has been a leader in the Canadian pool heat pump industry for more than 30 years, sells through a dealer network with an online locator, and provides service calls and warranty registration. A family succession is gradually taking over the business.
