Tsuneishi Kure Dock

Tsuneishi Kure Dock is a ship repair yard in Japan. It was established in 2022 as a repair-specialized yard and is part of the Tsuneishi Group. The company operates two plants: Kawajiri and Wakaba, handling repairs of ferries, government vessels, cement carriers, tugboats, and more.

The company originated as Kanda Shipbuilding & Iron Works, starting operations in March 1937 as a designated factory of the former Japanese Navy, manufacturing large landing craft and pier outfitting parts. In November 1948, it was reorganized into a corporation with capital of 1 million yen, manufacturing steel ship conversions and various outfitting parts. In October 1959, it received a transfer of government land in Wakaba-cho, Kure City, and established the Wakaba Plant as a repair-specialized factory. In April 1969, it began land reclamation of about 70,000 square meters in the sea off Kawajiri-cho, Toyota District. In June 1973, it installed a 25,000 G/T floating dock and other repair facilities. In November 1992, it replaced the 25,000 G/T floating dock. In April 2022, it came under the Tsuneishi Group and changed its name from Kanda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. to Kanda Dock Co., Ltd. In June 2025, it changed its name to Tsuneishi Kure Dock Co., Ltd.
