Trützschler is a company based in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Its business units include Trützschler Spinning, which describes itself as the technology market leader in spinning preparation in the cotton and man-made fiber sector; Trützschler Nonwovens, which manufactures machines and systems for the production of nonwovens products; and Trützschler Card Clothing, which has manufactured high performance clothing for cards and roller cards. The company traces its origins to August 1, 1888, when Paul Heinrich Trützschler registered his trade in Crimmitschau.

History

On August 1, 1888, Paul Heinrich Trützschler registered his trade in Crimmitschau, entering mechanics and forging as trade. In 1899/1900, with Bruno Gey as partner until 1905, the company name was changed to Paul Trützschler and Gey, and production in Crimmitschau consisted of tearing machines and carding willows. In 1902 the product range was expanded and cleaning and dust removal systems for cotton processing began, along with international market development. Sons Willi and Bruno Trützschler joined the company in 1913, and in 1920 Karl Trützschler, the youngest son, joined while founder Paul Heinrich Trützschler retired. In 1948 Trützschler made a new beginning in Mönchengladbach Odenkirchen in the third generation, as the company in Saxony was expropriated; with their partner Curt Müllges, Hans and Hermann Trützschler, the sons of Willi and Karl, re-established the company in Odenkirchen, now a suburb of Mönchengladbach. In 1967 at ITMA Basel the first Trützschler Card DK was presented. American Truetzschler was founded in the U.S. in 1969 with headquarters in Charlotte, NC. In 1975 Trützschler Indústria e Comércio de Máquina Ltda in Curitiba, Brazil was founded. In 1977, in a joint venture with Indian partners, the subsidiary Trumac was founded with headquarters in Ahmedabad. In 1990 the fourth generation entered management, with Heinrich Trützschler and Dr.-Ing. Michael Schürenkrämer joining the management. In 1992 there was a take-over of Zinser draw frame and the start of card production at Trumac, India.
