Overview

Fracht AG, commonly known as the Fracht Group, is a Swiss international logistics and freight forwarding group headquartered in Basel. Founded in 1955 by Rudolf Reisdorf Sr., the company remains family-owned and independent, with the Reisdorf family still controlling the business. It is one of the longer-established independent forwarders in Europe, having grown from a local Swiss operation into a global network spanning more than 150 offices in over 50 countries and employing more than 2,500 logistics experts. The group operates as both a traditional freight forwarder and a licensed Non-Vessel-Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC). Its service portfolio covers air freight, ocean freight (FCL and LCL), trucking (LTL, FTL, oversized and cross-border), rail freight, project cargo, heavy-lift and multimodal transport, as well as procurement and distribution logistics. Fracht is particularly known for complex project logistics, serving industries such as machinery, pharmaceuticals, energy and construction. Fracht's history includes early overseas expansion to New York in 1965, entry into Germany in 1976, and major project logistics work in the 1980s and 1990s. The company expanded into Asia in 1984, Australia in 1987, South America in 1998 and Africa in 2018. In 2001, Rudolf Reisdorf Jr. succeeded his father as CEO. The group has received industry recognition, including multiple Heavy Lift Awards, and in 2023 became a Main Partner of the MLS club Inter Miami CF. In 2025 Fracht celebrated its 70th anniversary and modernized its long-standing logo.
