Overview

TransInvestService (TIS) is a Ukrainian port operator founded in 1994 by Aleksei Stavnitser and Oleg Kutateladze. The company operates cargo terminals in the Yuzhny port area, northeast of Odesa, and owns supporting infrastructure including a railway station. TIS began with the acquisition of an unfinished pier (No. 17) from the state enterprise Liman, originally intended for phosphate imports. The pier was converted for export and by 1998 was equipped for fertilizer handling. Over the years, TIS built six more piers, bringing the total to eight by 2018. The company handles a wide range of cargo including grain, fertilizers, iron ore, coal, and containers. Its terminals include TIS-Zerno (grain), TIS-Minudobreniya (fertilizers), TIS-Ruda (iron ore), TIS-Ugol (coal), and TIS-KT (containers). In 2017, TIS handled 26.12 million tons of cargo, making it the largest port company in Ukraine, and employed 2,300 people. The company is privately owned by the families of the founders: Andrey Stavnitser, Egor Grebennikov, Vitaliy Kutateladze, and Oleg Kutateladze. Some terminals, such as TIS-Zerno and TIS-Minudobreniya, are owned by businessman Aleksei Fedorychev. TIS continues to be a key player in Ukraine's maritime export infrastructure.
