Traid

Traid is a UK charity retailer that operates charity shops in London, selling second-hand clothing. It generates all its funds through the sale of second-hand clothing and supports projects that improve the fashion industry, such as supporting organic cotton farmers and garment workers. Traid was launched in 1999 as a UK registered charity with four charity shops and 700 clothing banks.

Traid emerged at the end of the 90s, initially with four charity shops and a mission to fight global poverty. In 1999, Traid launched as a UK registered charity with four charity shops and 700 clothing banks. In 2001, Traid founded the ethical fashion label TRAIDremade. In 2003, Traid launched an education programme. In 2004, Traid expanded its charitable objectives to include protecting the environment and education. In 2009, Traid funded its first fashion related project. In 2012, Traid developed its funding criteria focusing exclusively on projects working to free the textile supply and production chain from exploitation. In 2014, Traid launched its free home collection service. In 2022, Traid became a partner signatory to Textiles 2030.
