Tivoli Cinema

Tivoli Cinema is a cinema venue in Tiverton, Devon, England, operated as part of the Merlin Cinemas circuit. It appears on Merlin Cinemas' official venue list under the Devon section, alongside the Embassy Cinema in Ilfracombe, Kings Cinema in Kingsbridge, New Carlton Cinema in Okehampton, New Central Cinema in Torquay and other cinemas across Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Norfolk, North Yorkshire, Somerset, Scotland and Wales. The circuit presents itself as a group of local theatres offering film, event cinema and live-on-stage programming, with shared services such as the Movie Magic Discount Card, gift cards, flexible booking, children's parties and private hire. As a Merlin Cinemas site, Tivoli Cinema is positioned within a regional independent-style cinema group rather than a national multiplex chain. Its programming is expected to follow the circuit's mix of mainstream releases, event cinema and live performances, supported by food and drink offerings and customer loyalty schemes. The venue's name, Tivoli, is shared by several historic cinemas and theatres in the United Kingdom and elsewhere, but within the Merlin Cinemas portfolio it specifically denotes the Tiverton site. Merlin Cinemas operates cinemas and theatres across a wide geographic spread of the United Kingdom, from Cornwall and Devon in the south-west to Scotland and Wales. The group's website lists venues by region and provides centralised information on prices, food and drink, competitions, film classification, autism-friendly screenings and jobs. Tivoli Cinema, Tiverton, is one of the Devon venues in that network. No founding date, ownership history or detailed corporate record for the Tiverton Tivoli Cinema is provided in the available evidence. The venue is treated here as an active cinema brand within the Merlin Cinemas group, with its identity tied to its location and its parent circuit rather than to a separately documented company.

Tivoli Cinema, Tiverton, is listed as a Devon venue on the Merlin Cinemas official website. The available evidence does not record when the cinema opened, when it joined Merlin Cinemas, or any earlier ownership. Its documented history is therefore limited to its current position within the Merlin Cinemas circuit. Merlin Cinemas presents itself as a group of local theatres spread across Cornwall, Devon, Gloucestershire, Norfolk, North Yorkshire, Somerset, Scotland and Wales. The circuit's website lists Tivoli Cinema, Tiverton, alongside other Devon sites: Embassy Cinema in Ilfracombe, Kings Cinema in Kingsbridge, New Carlton Cinema in Okehampton and New Central Cinema in Torquay. The same venue list includes Cornwall sites such as Capitol Cinema in Bodmin, Flora Cinema in Helston, Phoenix Cinema in Falmouth, Regal Cinema & Theatre in Redruth, Royal Cinema in St Ives, Savoy Cinema in Penzance and The Ritz in Penzance; Gloucestershire's Studio Cinema in Coleford; Norfolk's Regal Movieplex in Cromer; North Yorkshire's The Regent in Redcar; Somerset's Plaza Cinema in Weston-super-Mare and Wellesley Cinema in Wellington; Scotland's Astoria Cinema in Ayr, Merlin Cinema in Thurso and Pavilion Cinema in Galashiels; and Wales's Scala Cinema in Prestatyn and Strand Cinema in Rhyl. The circuit also operates the Regal Theatre in Redruth. Merlin Cinemas' shared customer offer includes the Movie Magic Discount Card, gift cards, flexible booking, children's parties, private hire, film classification information, digital ID, autism-friendly screenings and an onscreen magazine. The group also promotes Hollywood Pizza Restaurant, event cinema and live-on-stage programming. These services frame Tivoli Cinema's operations as part of a coordinated regional circuit rather than a standalone venue. The name Tivoli has been used by cinemas and theatres in various places, and the available evidence does not establish a corporate link between the Tiverton Tivoli Cinema and any other Tivoli-named venue. Within this dossier, Tivoli Cinema refers specifically to the Merlin Cinemas venue in Tiverton, Devon.
