Overview

Thornapple Press is a Canadian publisher of thoughtful books on love, sexuality and relational ethics. It was founded by Eve Rickert and is the successor to Thorntree Press. The press is based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, with team members in various locations. Its books are distributed by UTP/Ampersand in Canada and Ingram internationally.

History

Thornapple Press publishes non-fiction books that discuss relationships, love, sexuality and relational ethics from unique and underrepresented perspectives. The company has been publishing since 2014, originally as Thorntree Press, an independent publisher based in Portland, Oregon. In 2022, one of Thorntree's cofounders, Eve Rickert, bought out her other cofounder, moved the company to Canada, and rebranded it as Thornapple Press. The name 'Thornapple' acknowledges the origins (hawthorn tree) while evoking a vision of books that are healing and transformational.
