History

The Thermal Dynamics name was adopted in 1995, when the Fluid Cooling Division of Dunham-Bush was renamed Thermal Dynamics. That division had been formed in 1957 in Riverside, California, producing copper condenser coils for RV and high-performance applications, and moved to its current location in Ontario, California, in 1990. The business expanded into China through joint ventures: TDI-Nantong in 1994, TDI-Ningbo in 1996, and TDI-Tiantai in 2007. TDI was purchased by EPP Capital in 2012 and by Zhejiang Yinlun Machinery Company, Tiantai, in 2016. In 2024, TDI opened a new North America headquarters and warehouse in Houston, Texas.
