The company traces its origins to 1961, when a journeyman typesetter named Earle O'Born purchased an old letterpress shop in downtown Toronto. History
The Printing House traces its origins to 1961, when a skilled journeyman typesetter named Earle O'Born purchased an old letterpress shop in downtown Toronto. According to the company, TPH was the first in Canada to market instant printing and to begin expanding by opening corporate locations, and the first to introduce a unit-based price list and typist guide. In the 1990s, TPH switched to a PC-based platform to digitally connect Xerox printers instead of using files from physical discs, and created the first digital print network across Canada, sending digital files from Toronto to Vancouver where they were produced and delivered locally. As TPH grew, it expanded locations coast to coast, including cities such as Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Niagara, and Halifax.
