Overview

The Dove is a pub and restaurant in Hammersmith, London, operated as part of Fuller's. It sits on the River Thames and offers refined pub classics, real ales, wines and a well-stocked bar. The pub has been a fixture of London life for centuries, with a public house on the site since the seventeenth century, and has been owned by Fuller's since 1796.

History

A public house has stood on the site of The Dove since the seventeenth century. The poet James Thomson composed 'Rule Britannia' there, and Charles II romanced and dined his mistress Nell Gwynne there. The pub has been owned by Fuller's since 1796. The small space to the right of the bar, reached through an extra entrance, was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest bar room in the world, and a brass plaque inside marks the height the waters reached in the great flood of 1928.
