Terezínská iniciativa - Mezinárodní terezínské sdružení z.s.

Terezínská iniciativa (TI) is an association of former Jewish prisoners of the Terezín ghetto and other ghettos and concentration camps and their direct descendants. It currently has approximately 300 members in the Czech Republic (of whom about 140 are so-called 1st generation members) and fewer than 50 members living abroad. Its main goal is to ensure that the memory of those who perished during the Shoah is preserved in a dignified manner. It financially supports educational trips of Czech schoolchildren and students to the Terezín Memorial, using grants from NFOH and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. For the purposes of documentation and research into the history of the Terezín ghetto and the Shoah in the Czech lands, it founded the Terezín Initiative Institute in 1993. TI publishes the magazine Terezínská iniciativa 5–6 times a year. It is headed by a board elected by an assembly that meets once a year; the board elects the chair from among its members, currently PhDr. Michal Stránský. Terezín Initiative is a collective member of the WFJ organization.
