Telcat Multicom GmbH (stylised in capitals as TELCAT MULTICOM) is a German vendor-independent system house headquartered in Salzgitter. It was founded in 1986 as a spin-off from the telecommunications division (Fernmeldewesen) of Salzgitter AG, which had existed since 1945. The company is a subsidiary of Salzgitter AG and is part of the TELCAT Unternehmensgruppe. As of 2021 it employed around 570 people across 25 locations in Germany. TELCAT positions itself as one of Germany's largest ITK (information and communication technology) system houses. Its portfolio covers three main pillars: communication (unified communication and collaboration, alerting and crisis management, nurse call systems, managed services), security technology (fire alarm systems and voice alarm, video surveillance and analytics, perimeter protection, access control, WinGuard radio, drone defence) and information technology (IT security, cloud services, IT infrastructure, IT services and operations, cloud and carrier services). The company describes its mission as digitally, future-proofly and qualitatively advancing its customers' business processes. TELCAT serves business and public-sector customers across Germany, with a focus on secure infrastructure as the foundation for growth, resilience and trust. Its solutions range from individual systems to complex networked installations, including fire alarm technology, video surveillance, access control, fire protection, alerting and drone defence. Ownership has remained with Salzgitter AG since the parent company was spun off from Preussag AG in 1998, when the Telcat companies were transferred to Salzgitter AG. Over the decades TELCAT has expanded through acquisitions and new branches, including Telefonbau Marienfeld GmbH & Co. KG (2002), NorthStar Telecom GmbH (2008) and a majority stake in Exabyters Betriebs GmbH (2018). It also founded betterCALL GmbH in 2005 for marketing telecommunications services to private customers. The company continues to operate as an active German ITK system house.

The origins of Telcat Multicom date back to 1945, when Salzgitter AG established a telecommunications department (Fernmeldewesen). In 1986 this department was spun off and the company TELCAT – Gesellschaft für Telekommunikation und Catering mbH was founded. In 1991 the company opened or took over branches in Peine, Hamburg, Bitterfeld, Hannover and Ostharz. In 1994 the catering division was sold and the company was renamed Telcat Kommunikationstechnik GmbH; new buildings at Sudetenstraße 10 were occupied. In 1995 the sales and service structure of Hagenuk Telekom GmbH was taken over and TELCAT MULTICOM GmbH was founded, making the Telcat Group nationwide. In 1997 the company entered the fixed-network business and marketed "TELCAT teleNET" to private and business customers. When Salzgitter AG was spun off from Preussag AG in 1998, the Telcat companies were transferred to Salzgitter AG. In 2002 Telcat Multicom acquired Telefonbau Marienfeld GmbH & Co. KG. In 2005 betterCALL GmbH was founded to market telecommunications services to private customers, and the service range was expanded to include network security services through the Safeconsult business unit. A server-based PBX was developed and marketed as Telcat UC. In 2008 Telcat Multicom acquired NorthStar Telecom GmbH. In 2009 a new branch was opened in Cologne, and the TELCAT Group had more than 20 locations in Germany. In 2015 Telefonbau Marienfeld and NorthStar Telecom GmbH were integrated into Telcat Multicom. In 2018 TELCAT took over the majority of Exabyters Betriebs GmbH. As of 2021 the company employed around 570 people at 25 locations.
